Tales of Terror Ch. 6
Tales of Terror Ch. 6
It was still October 20th. Daphne had gone back to the mansion, but she didn't tell Fleura that she was going there. She had to check the back of the mansion again. Where she had found the letter, maybe there was more there. Why would someone put a letter at the back of the house instead of the mailbox? She approached the back, when she realized that there was a path about 6 feet away. She walked the full length of the path, only to discover that it led to the clearing where Casper and she would talk. She raced back to the mansion, something felt off.
Once Daphne got back to the mansion, she continued to walk clockwise around it, and then she discovered a small door about 4 feet off of the ground. She saw a ladder about 3 feet away from the door, and grabbed it to climb up to the door. She placed her hand on the door knob, only to discover it was locked. She grabbed her lock pick and unlocked the door. She climbed in, only to discover a long case of stairs. She walked up them, and then discovered a hallway. At the end of the hallway was a bookshelf. She couldn't help but wonder why there was a bookshelf at the end of a hallway. That's when she noticed the journal she had been reading from living on the shelf. She cautiously picked it up, flipped through the pages, realizing that it was the exact same. The coffee stain on the first page was there, in the exact same spot, looking the exact same as before. It was the same decrepit, dark-green journal. She knew it was smartest to put it back, but something still felt. Why put a fairly obvious door, 4 feet off the ground, that led to something like this. She then leaned down to where she had pulled the book from and saw a key hole. There had to be a knob somewhere. Unless, it was a false door. She then realized that on the side of the bookshelf there was a piece of wood with hinges on it. She pulled a book touching that wood out of the way and snapped open the lock. She then did the other locks, and pulled off the piece of wood, then discovering the knob. She opened the door and discovered that she was at the organ pipes. She all of a sudden heard footsteps beneath her, and realized that someone was coming, she raced out, shoved the journal back. Closed and locked the door, pulling out a book at the bottom of the shelf that read on the spine:
"Samantha Beedleann and Veela Stewart"
Something about the title intrigued her, so she grabbed it, and left the mansion, heading directly home.
